Miss me?
Omg I've missed the blogging world so much! We got our internet cut off and I haven't had a way to get online. I've absolutely hated not being able to blog. We've finally got the internet back now so just a little warning, I'll be doing a whole of posting from now on!

Hunger
Summary:
“Thou art the Black Rider. Go thee out unto the world.”
Lisabeth Lewis has a black steed, a set of scales, and a new job: she’s been appointed Famine. How will an anorexic seventeen-year-old girl from the suburbs fare as one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse?
Traveling the world on her steed gives Lisa freedom from her troubles at home: her constant battle with hunger, and her struggle to hide it from the people who care about her. But being Famine forces her to go places where hunger is a painful part of everyday life, and to face the horrifying effects of her phenomenal power. Can Lisa find a way to harness that power — and the courage to battle her own inner demons?

My Thoughts:
This is the first book I've read since my reading slump that The Iron King put me in. The story was really easy to get into and I speed through the entire book in just a couple of hours. Although, it is a pretty short read at only 180 pages. I really enjoyed the story and I thought that the concept was really interesting. The only real complaint that I have about the book is that I wish that you got more depth to the other characters. I realize that the story focuses on Lisa, but even so I would have liked to seen just a bit more interaction with the other characters. I'm definitely looking forward to the follow up book.

In your link, please state the main genre that you review: eclectic, contemp. fiction, ya, paranormal, mystery, non-fiction, etc. Please do not list every genre you review - if you are review a variety, please put eclectic! The Hop gets jumbled up if the title is too long, so please limit to one genre. I will be limiting the number of characters in the title to ensure the Hop doesn't look messy! Thank you! Example: Crazy-for-Books (literary fiction)2. Post about the Hop on your blog. Spread the word about the book party! The more the merrier! I'm currently up to 88 blogs that I'm following. I'm actually pretty surprised by that. I didn't expect it to be quite so many :)

What will make you put down a book?
Yesterday the boyfriend approached me and asked if something was wrong, why hadn't I been reading like I normally do. I knew that since I started on The Iron King that I hadn't been reading the way I normally do. I mean, I've been reading this book for two weeks and I'm still only halfway through. I think it was the boyfriend's concern about it that finally pushed me over the edge.
I really hate to give up on books. I can't stand not knowing what happens. However, I miss reading and since I've started reading this book I haven't enjoyed my reading the way I used to. I feel like it's been more of a chore than something I do for fun.
I'm hoping that I can just put the book down for a while, move on to something else, and then come back to it later and be able to finish it. Maybe getting away from it for a while and reading something that I really enjoy will clear my head so I can at least get through the last half.
My question to you guys is, what is the deal breaker for you on a book you're reading? What sort of things will make you put it down and move on to something else?
